With the rising costs of housing, education and healthcare, many of us feel challenged to live within our means and pursue our dreams. At the same time, we are increasingly aware of the disproportionate privilege we possess in comparison with most of the worlds population. What does it mean live justly and sustainably in a culture of prosperity and materialism? How can we apply what Jesus taught about time, money and possessions to our current life context?

Entering the Story, Theology Workshop

by peeps ()

We are inviting you to join us for an event we are calling "Entering The
Story" on September 22, 2007. This will be the second time we've done this
event--which many people found helpful and life changing the first time
around. Entering the Story is designed to help participants enrich their
understanding and engagement with what Jesus described as "The Kingdom of
God." The day will be divided into four sessions based on the four
statements of Jesus found in Mark 1:15. Rather than being a presentation or
lecture, we've designed the sessions to be participatory,

Spiritual Ecology Event

by peeps ()

Today we are enjoying crapes, coffee, and rich conversation at the Spiritual Ecology event. We've heard a lot about social justice, sustainability and vocation, emerging expressions of church and more. I was part of a conversation led by Doug Pagitt where we wrestled with the distinction between "ministry", "work", and holistic ways to make a living. I also sat in on a conversation about connecting the wealth of the US to missional development for the poorest of the world that was facilitated by Nathan George. Both were great conversations. Beyond the conversations, we are hoping that new friends are made on similar places on the journey.

Community Learning Lab

by peeps ()

During the month of June ReIMAGINE will host a Learning Lab on the theme of community. These labs, formerly called the Jesus Dojo, serve as a project based learning experience designed to help people integrate the teachings of Jesus into real life.

This Community Learning Lab will focus on reconciliation. We will help one another take personal risks to be reconciled wherever needed, with friends, family, neighbors, co-workers and anyone else. We will divide into teams to host parties of hospitality and visit local communities of faith with the intention of pursuing unity. We will pursue reconciliation where necessary while training ourselves to develop an attitude of love and appreciation that will keep us from drifting into judgment or fear in the future.
